      An interview with Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson and Olympians series, is presented. Riordan states that he was a reluctant reader when he was growing up. He also mentions that he began writing books for children after his son who is interested in Greek mythology urged him to make a story and write it down. Furthermore, he shares that the aspects that his students taught him in writing for young people are to get to the main point quickly and hold the reader's attention.
