    • Abstract:
The article discusses what parents can expect from their children's school academically and socially grade-by-grade. At kindergarten, children will find a lot of seat work and pencil-and-paper tasks and they will be expected to sound out simple words. At first grade, the students learn about different genres and how they are compared. Kids at second grade will learn to read silently and aloud and can relate plots in books to real life.
