Earthrise; or, The Globalization of the World Picture.

The article presents an examination of the Earthrise era and discusses the scientific, philosophical and historical implications associated with globalization and the ability to physically view the Earth as a whole. Drawing on the thought of 20th-century German philosopher Martin Heidegger and German-American philosopher Hannah Arendt, the article explores how the Earthrise era has changed the human condition and discusses how it has created new issues for the argument related to what is made versus what is grown. Additionally, it discusses social and philosophical issues related to technological innovation, the cultural history of globalization and space exploration.
