    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the fluctuation in the Australian dollar in the last few years, the impact of the global financial crisis on its economy as well as structural changes in its economy. It informs that there has been a 100 percent increase in the value of the Australian dollar compared to the U.S. dollar from one Australian dollar equaling 48 U.S. cents to a value of 96 cents. The global financial crisis has also caused a decline in exports from Australia to the U.S. and Europe.
