      The article examines the three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, to show how religion has contributed to the spread of languages. It provides a detailed account on how the New Testament writings of Christianity in Greek had become the language of culture in the Mediterranean and explores the holy book of Islam, the Qur'an. In addition, the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem who influenced the home of many of the Jewish people.
