      A response is presented to the article "Can America Be Fixed?" by Fareed Zakaria in the January/February 2013 issue in which the author discusses methods of recovery for the U.S. economy. Topics include the effect of government investment in public works and infrastructure improvement projects in the 1950s and 1960s upon economic conditions, the role of globalization, information technology, and low inflation in economic prosperity in the U.S. prior to the 2008 global financial crisis, and the limitations of economic growth posed by unskilled labor and lack of equity in the U.S. as of 2013.
