    • Abstract:
The article explores the interrelationship between politics and poverty. It offers a comparison between two kinds of poverty, namely absolute and overall, noting that the first involves deprivation of basic human needs which is common in many developing nations while the other concerns lack of income and resources necessary to sustain livelihoods. Brief details on poverty measurement efforts being done by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are also presented.
