      The article examines whether South African leader Nelson Mandela's memory in the cultural aspect should belong as part of the the collective memory of Africans in general or just particular to South Africans. The author states that putting Mandela in the African memory pool is already hidden because of discriminatory education policies designed in the past that regards intellectual emancipation. The issue of whether Mandela's political convictions outweigh his inherited prejudices is cited.
