- Abstract: The article focuses on cultural and linguistic minorities in Italy who wish to speak their own languages. A survey of language patterns in Italy found that the majority of the population speaking in dialects or non-Italian languages. The article reports that ethnolinguistic groups want the Italian government to actively support the use of minority languages in public discourse. Details are given regarding the different ethnic groups in Italy.
