    • Abstract:
The article reflects on what the well-dressed woman is thinking based on an analysis of U.S. leading fashion magazines. Women are depicted as feminist but confused in "Mademoiselle" and "Glamour" because they correlate fashion with the fulfillment of the needs of men by women. The September 1996 issue of "Glamour" portrayed the support of women for gay marriage. It reflects the needs of women such as sex, dating advice and access to abortion. "Mirabella" exposes the fascination of women with being classy rather than hip.
