      The article considers the importance of the RCN travel health competency document published in Great Britain, alongside the need to undertake and understand risk assessment within the travel health consultation. It notes that for the first time, the document set a minimum standard for nurses working in travel health medicine. The wealth of resources and guidance available to help achieve best practice in travel health are highlighted.
