      The article focuses on historic preservation in North Africa and challenges that developers' and speculators' construction schemes pose to urban identities and fabric. It mentions how to interpret Maghrebi history and dangers and insecurities presented by urban living and promoting community-building and consciousness-raising projects. It also mentions social sciences would ideally join with the humanities reflect changing popular attitudes toward the past.
