- Abstract: The article introduces a new critical approach to a larger community of novelist Jane Austen researchers and to provide them a cognitive literary reading of the first chapter of the novel "Pride and Prejudice." It reveals how Austen enrolls readers in the same course of self-discovery that drives the action of the novel.
