An essay is presented which discusses the process of rehabilitating neoliberalism and the representation of disability in motion pictures such as "Amores perros," "21 Grams," and "Babel" by directors Alejandro González Iñárritu and Guillermo Arriaga. The depiction of Mexican national identity in motion pictures is examined, along with the North American Free Trade Agreement, domestic consumption practices in the U.S. and Mexico, and the film industry in Mexico.
