      The article offers information on role of literacy teachers in helping students build meaningful connections to and disconnections from texts in classrooms. Topics include building a personal connection in students with readings on topics; relational reasoning technique for ability to notice or build meaningful patterns; and relational reasoning as an effective instructional technique to help students grapple with matches and mismatches between their prior topic knowledge and the text content.
