The article discusses various steps by which library media specialists can conduct staff development workshops to help teachers learn how to integrate information literacy skills and technology into their curricula. Among the skills necessary for library media specialists to conduct effective staff development activities are computer and Internet skills. In selecting a workshop topic, library specialists should first discover the needs of the students and the teachers. One way to acquire this necessary information is to send out a survey with some possible workshop topics listed and include an item where teachers can write in their own suggested topics. For the workshop to be successful, specialists should encourage teachers to continue working with the technology or information literacy skills presented in the workshop. It is also important to provide administrators with reports of the activity.
