Daughter of famous actor Gerald Du Maurier and granddaughter of novelist George Du Maurier, she was predestined to have a successful life. A celebrated author by the time she was twenty-five, she later saw three of her works brought to the screen by director Alfred Hitchcock. Renowned for stories that often entwined Gothic and horror elements, she is mostly remembered as a popular novelist.
