    • Abstract:
This article presents biographical information Irish author Katharine Tynan. In a career that spanned fifty years, Tynan produced over 150 titles, including works of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction; she also contributed frequently to the popular press. She created work in keeping with the earliest years of the Celtic Twilight and the Irish Literary Renaissance and also addressed the disillusioned climate of Europe after the end of World War I. Her earliest successes encouraged a generation of Irish writers to pursue their native traditions. In addition to her involvement with the revival of Irish literature, Tynan, in her light romantic fiction and journalism, captured the sentiments of her readers as times changed and was able to support herself in a literary establishment dominated by men.
