      This article profiles author Clive Staples Lewis. He was born on November 29, 1898 in Dublin, Ireland and died on November 22, 1963 in Oxford, England. Oxford scholar and Christian theologian, Lewis produced a seven-volume fantasy series that quickly became a children's classic. The Chronicles of Narnia can be traced back to Lewis' boyhood literary creations in which he peopled imaginary lands with powerful and courtly beasts.
