      This article presents an overview and analysis of Julieta Campos's fictional works. The author addresses Campos's use of water as a literary motif and as a metaphor for her characters which are complex and deep. Campos's first novel entitled "Muerte por agua" ("Death by Water") was published in 1965. In addition to fiction, Campos has published one play, "Jardín de invierno" (1988), and several works of nonfiction and literary criticism including "La herencia obstinada.
