    • Abstract:
The author focuses on the study on how the handmaids reminisce their domestic lives between two world wars. It aims to find the positive recollections of domestic services during the wars, and to remember on the hardships and difficulties during their domestic service in the two world wars. Furthermore, it examines the concept of materialism to explain the irregularity of power between a lady over a domestic servant. Thus, the English domestic servitude ended during Second World War.
