    • Abstract:
An essay on the manifestations of the English culture in Jane Austen's works, is presented. It states that Austen's definition of the English culture was revealed in "Emma." The existence of a preliminary phase of Orientalist sensibility is shown on Austen's description of English culture in "Emma" established within the context of Regency design. The article states that Austen's novels depicting English culture, verdure, and comfort would take part of the cultural imperialism referred to as Orientalism.
