      The article offers a discussion on mothering. It offers a look on the book of Adrienne Rich, "Of Woman Born," which argues the lack of research into motherhood and that motherhood is made of the woman's personal experience of mothering and the influence on her mothering of the institution of motherhood. Also noted are the depictions of the good mother in the society and the changing expectations on her image during the 20th century. An analysis of the link between feminism and motherhood is also given.
