    • Abstract:
The article presents a literary review of the 2007 novel "Me and Mr. Darcy," by Alexandra Potter. The novel is classified as chick lit or literature for women that read Jane Austen as romance with no socioeconomic tensions. Both Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" and Potter's novel depict complex visual exchanges that elude conventional gender categorizations with Potter's work involving a straight gender reversal. Potter's novel is said to modernize and reproduce the power dynamics of the Austen novel.
