- Abstract: The article examines the growing popularity of crime noir literature set in Florida, a genre the author refers to as "Florida glare." He notes that several books share the theme of Florida as a once paradise-like location inhabited by the young and wealthy that has become a home for the elderly, depressed, and criminal.
