This article presents news briefs related to happenings in the book industry in Great Britain as of August 5, 2005. It is reported that the book supplier Handleman Co. has promoted Glyn Angel to managing director. He has been with Handleman UK for four years, joining the company as supply chain and purchasing director. Meanwhile, Lightning Source U.K. Ltd. has won the Innovation in Publishing Production 2005 Award at the inaugural Printmedia Management Quality in Production Conference in London, England. Lightning Source was proposed for the award by South Bank University Press, for work carried out on the latter's back catalogue and for help with market testing.
