    • Abstract:
Michael Bopp has spent his career on Capitol Hill investigating highly publicized cases, including one of the numerous gate scandals during former U.S. President Bill Clinton's administration. In 1997, he worked the panel's "Chinagate" investigation against former president and the Democratic Party, and then a year later moved over to the House side to help out with its investigation of the controversy. In 1998, Senator Susan Collins, tapped Bopp, who has a law degree from Harvard Law School, to serve as her legislative director in her personal office. When Collins got the top post at the Governmental Affairs Committee last January, Bopp moved over with his boss.
