      The article explores how the Democratic Party in the U.S. is seizing the recent frenetic trading in GameStop Corp. to push a financial transaction tax. Topics discussed include how such a tax would enact a tiny sum from every securities trade and is supported by Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Other topics discussed include how the money could be used for public works spending, how investment firms and stock exchanges are trying to stop this and how many European countries that imposed transaction taxes later withdrew them.
