So far the courts have backed the state officials and the oil and gas industry but now the Supreme court is considering if traditional zoning can be implemented for the activities of oil and gas industry too like other industrial, commercial and residential activities. Beck Energy Corporation is seeking an order that Ravenna,Ohio cannot use its zoning ordinance to prohibit drilling for oil and gas.
