I didn't conceive my job would need to exist in 2016

This week, I began my role as sex discrimination commissioner knowing three areas need immediate attention. We have to address the prevalence of violence against women and girls. It's a disgrace. We need more diversity at decision-making levels: women are under-represented in management, on boards and in government. And without equal pay and better lifetime economic security for women, we will never have an equal society.
