    • Abstract:
The author looks at the context of stones in developmental psychology. The author have already observed the developing interests of children in rocks and stones. Children between ages 1 and 3 like to pick stones or rocks but they quickly throw them down, because they use stones to express a defiance. This expression is natural at a stage when they are asserting their powers as individuals. Psychoanalyst Carl Jung describes the personal and mythopoetic meanings of rocks and stones.
