    • Abstract:
The fact that value formations have early beginnings and one's behavior is influenced by the values he holds gives strong support for the need to study values at the elementary school level. Using the Social Values Inventory this study examined the values of 555 children in grades four, five and six to determine if significant value differences exist. From the results of the statistical findings using chi-square it was concluded that there were significant differences in the measured values in relationship to each of the variables of sex, grade, parochial school and public school students, and socioeconomic level. The value categories that seemed to be producing the differences are also identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
