      This article presents information "Count d'Orgel," by Raymond Radiguet and translated by Violet Schiff. Radiguet wrote this contemporary love story with both "La Princesse de Cleves" and "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" in mind, deliberately imposing a classical compression and lucidity on Proustian material. Besides this, he wanted to make an adventure story out of the, psychology and use the virtues, not the vices, for shock. Here it is nearly thirty years since this book was written and the author can find in it no sign of age. As a matter of content, there are a few props and circumstances that locate the novel as a work of the Twenties, but it has escaped being a period piece or a document, perfectly.
