    • Abstract:
The article evaluates the German film "Rotation." The truth of Shakespeare's definition of art as a mirror held up to nature lies in the fact that man's nature involves not only his actions and his ideas but his fantasies as well certain poor works of art are particularly useful for capturing the fantasies better than the facts. The German film "Rotation" is one of these. It is touted as a portrait of an "average German family before, during, and after Hitler's time?" "Rotation" is a domestic film-an unlikely item for export-because it does not take cognizance of the existence of anything or anybody outside of German consciousness.
