      The article reflects on two publications "The Loss of Individual Liberty," by Peter Robinson in the November 2008 issue of the magazine "Forbes," and "The Abduction of Opera," by Heather Mac Donald in the summer issue of the "City Journal." He notes that Robinson was making a partisan point when knowing that the winning candidate aims to spread the wealth around. Meanwhile, he argues that Mac Donald makes a cognate point about recent efforts to transform operas into postmodern dystopian.
