      This article will highlight some traits of social and economic life in Albagiara, formerly Ollasta Usellus, a typical village of Marmilla, a rural area of Mid-Southern Sardinia. Particular attention is given to the importance of cattle in increasing the cereal production, which also urged people to extend the areas that were to be used exclusively for its pasture. What helped the local economy was also the fact that Ollasta turned out to be for Barbagian people and, in particular, for the so-called "cillonargius gavoesi" (fabrics resellers) a passage from their lands to the Campidano, as emerged from the judicial documentation that is kept in the State Archives of Cagliari.       L'articolo evidenzia alcuni tratti di vita sociale ed economica di Albagiara, già Ollasta Usellus, tipico paese della Marmilla, regione agricola della Sardegna centro-meridionale, come l'importanza assunta dal bestiame bovino nel potenziamento della produzione cerealicola, il che spinse in direzione dell'estensione degli spazi da destinargli a pascolo in modo esclusivo. Ma diede un contributo all'economia locale anche il fatto che Ollasta si è rivelato essere un punto di passaggio dei barbaricini dalle loro terre ai campidani ed in particolare dei cosiddetti cillonargius gavoesi (rivenditori di tessuti), come è emerso dalla documentazione giudiziaria conservata nell'Archivio di Stato di Cagliari.
