      The article presents various abstracts of manuscripts related to Americans, published in the Winter 2003 issue of the "Journal of Social History." Abstract, Artificial Limbs and Industrial Workers' Bodies in Turn-of-the-Century Pittsburgh" by Edward Slavishak examines artificial limb manufacturers' strategies for marketing their products to Pittsburgh industrial workers at the turn of the twentieth century. Another abstract, "The Lynching of Persons of Mexican Origin or Descent in the United States, 1848 to 1828," is based on numerous archival sources in both Spanish and English. The archival resources include diaries, letters, memoirs, folk culture, newspapers, government documents, and diplomatic correspondence.
