    • Abstract:
The author reflects on his journey as an African American catholic. He discusses the role played by the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Richmond, Virginia in his becoming a catholic, the anger he felt toward the church for many years since his family and the black community experienced racist acts, and his decision to come back to the church in 1995 and serve as the interim director of the Richmond Diocese's Office for Black Catholics.
