    • Abstract:
The article presents two case studies on the failures of AVI CHAI Foundation. Its partner foundation assured the charity that 18 fellows would be joining them. The author discusses how false assumptions had led to the failure of the group. In particular, she cites the decisions made by the group based on these assumptions and the implications of those decisions on the financial affairs of the organization. She suggests ways on how to improve fund management in the third sector, particularly the use of due diligence when making funding decisions.
