    • Abstract:
Although state government officials recognize the steady and serious increase in the numbers of citizens with Alzheimer's disease, often only small amounts of funding are available for integrated state efforts to deal with the problem. Florida and California stand out as two states with state-developed and funded Alzheimer's networks. Using the example of the successful Michigan Dementia Coalition, this article describes how small amounts of funding from a state can have a great positive impact on coordinated service efforts and thus on people in that state who have dementia and their families.
