    • Abstract:
The article explores the use of waves as a conceptual model for the history of feminism, discussing first wave, second wave, and third wave feminism. According to the author, this model highlights the contributions of a short wave of mid-19th-century feminists such as Lucretia Mott and Sojourner Truth who addressed issues including racism, imperialism, and economic welfare which have traditionally been associated with second- and third-wave feminism in the 20th century. Other topics include women's suffrage, elitism, and social justice.
