The article presents a study which examined the causes of warm surface temperatures observed for the global mean, equatorial central Pacific, and India in 2015. It mentions that decadal variability of Niño-4 region temperature anomalies was evaluated and global mean analysis was conducted. It concludes that anthropogenic warming was mostly to blame, according to Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5 (CMIP5) simulations.
