    • Abstract:
The article reports on the administrative structure of the American Public Health Association (APHA) of 1999. The Members of boards, certain committees, and other units of APHA are appointed by the Executive Board after seeking suggestions from sections, affiliates, caucuses, and the membership at large of the Association. Representatives on the Governing Council from affiliated associations are elected by the members of the respective affiliated associations. The Executive Board and Association officers are elected by the members of the Governing Council. The Governing Council is the governing body of the APHA. Functions performed by this Council include the establishment and amendment of the Constitution and Bylaws: establishment of Association policies; establishment and supervision of sections; election of the Executive Board, Association officers, and honorary members; and recognition of affiliated associations. Reports of recommendations for organizational components are received and acted upon by the Council. The officers of the Association and members of the Executive Board, except for the ex-officio members, are voting members of the Governing Council. The President of Association Officers is Audrey Gotsch.
