    • Abstract:
The article discusses the massively popular search engines in the world wide web which includes Google and Yahoo! The two search engines account for one third of traffic coming to many of the top branded content sites online. And yet, now at the top of their game, the major engines are looking outside the search box for future business strategies, from web services-based software applications to mobile executions, and even into content creation, aggregation, and distribution. Ultimately, the most formidable competition for search could be actual technology empowered users. On demand media formats, communities of media sharers, personalized delivery mechanisms, and especially RSS feeds reestablish direct relationships between content makers and audiences.
