      The article discusses the need for globalization of content as the internet has provided a means of reaching wider markets and distinguishes between globalization, internalization and localization. Key considerations for content globalization include measurability, repeatability, scalability and flexibility. A variety of technical tools such as XML, metadata and Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) may be helpful in the development process. The author also references Allrecipe.com, which gets 270 million visits in 14 sites and 25 countries.
