      The article focuses on a learning plan that turns students into art critics while exposing them to several good books that may potentially be Caldecott winners. The plan is also a way to help students think about the books they read and the illustrations they see while forming and supporting opinions about literature. The information literacy/inquiry objectives, curriculum objectives, and instructional roles for librarians are provided.
