      The article reports that visual effects and animated films have experienced an interesting year in 2008. It says that cutting-edge visual effects provided a number of superheroes with extraordinary powers and it brought unusual creatures to life and transported the audience back in time to prehistoric days. According to VFX supervisor Mike Chambers, the technology and the artistry have come such a long way, and popular movies like "The Dark Night" and "Iron Man" have big budgets and vision. However, the Orphanage's Stu Maschwitz claimed that visual effects are becoming so important to all movies. Animation has had also an interesting year with the first Walt Disney Animation collaboration with Pixar, and two stellar entries from DreamWorks Animation and Pixar.
