    • Abstract:
Between 1967 and 1973, Geert Europe's personnel research IBM employees across 40 coundifferences in values between people in the definition of six simple and quantifiable cultural dimensions used to measure national traits - a framework widely applied in international business. TD professionals must be willing to observe behaviors and practices to determine the extent to which values are woven into the work that the company and its employees perform daily. When it comes to developing global talent, such behavior assessments can equip employees and company leaders with the tools they need to affirm shared ideals and align their actions with shared values so as to lead by example. The reliance on Hofstede for quick cultural insights has also meant that in applying the model, TD professionals tend to forget that country scores are merely average results computed from thousands of individuals.
