      The article presents advice for equine veterinarians on how to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) when working with horses. A study published by the journal "Applied Ergonomics" found that one hundred percent of veterinarians surveyed reported suffering from musculoskeletal discomfort within twelve months, which could lead to WMSDs. Topics include advice for how equine veterinarians could ease musculoskeletal stress during common horse treatment tasks including lameness exams, restraint, and rectal palpations, the prevalence of wrist extension and ulnar deviation in equine veterinarians, and similarities between equine veterinarian WMSDs and carpal tunnel syndrome in human dental hygienists.
