SOCIAL CONFLICTS AND FICTION: THE CABANAGEM IN THE BRASILIAN WRITER INGLÊS DE SOUSA.
    • Abstract:
In the short stories "A quadrilha de Jacó Patacho" and "O rebelde", Inglês de Sousa discusses about groups of insurgents from the Cabanagem. How this framework is done is what I seek to analyze in this paper. In what way the rebellion was seen, both by history and fiction, in numerous ways (the pros and cons), my interest here is to highlight by what methods the fictional text confirms and builds prejudged images about popular movements.
